A tabletop Cover for Battlefront Valkyrie

Our kitchen table is only 32” wide, making it just a tad too short for the optimal playfield required by Battlefront Valkyrie. We already had four sheets of black foam board that is 30”x20”. The issue I had was that I need to use 4 of them to create a 60”x40” playfield. So, this means that I need to connect them together with something. That’s where Fusion comes in.

I opened up fusion and started to design some clips that I could use to combine the four pieces of foam board together. My first attempt was a failure, because I used the wrong opening size for the foam board thickness. The thickness of the foam board is 6mm, and I made my first connector 6mm, which means it just slid on and was not tight. So I reduced the width to 4mm, making a much tighter fit.

Here is my build plate:

I’m going to buy a starfield playmat to lay on top of the boards to give me a bit of scenery.

Here is a closeup of the clip fitting on the board. I printed 12 of them (3 per board edge).
