I took an early day today to get my Alabama drivers license and fix the name on My Social Security card. I've been putting these chores off for over a year.
The drivers license office was empty when I got there, so it only took about 15 minutes to get my AL license (compared to the 3 hours it took to renew my GA license when we lived in Atlanta).
After that, I headed over to the Social Security office to get my name fixed. Someone mistyped it and it's now incorrect. So, I had to wrangle my birth certificate and go wait. I'm currently waiting.
I got a bit of a scare because they told me they couldn't use my temporary paper AL license as ID and my GA license had been voided by AL. Catch-22. The guy finally called someone over and determined that the GA license is enough proof of ID.
Hopefully, I'll get to go home before dinner. There are a lot of people here.
